Amos the Shepherd Among His Sheep at Dawnby emmanuel_higgins

Amos 1:1

The words of Amos, who was among the herdmen of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.

Amos was a herdsman from Tekoa. The Lord chose him and called him from that humble work to serve as a prophet to Israel. God raises up prophets to speak for Him from among both the lowly and the noble. Those He calls He teaches by inspiration the truths to bear to His people.
