I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies.
God hates and rejects feast days, ceremonies, and solemn assemblies when hearts remain polluted by sin, and no elaborate worship or offering can please Him apart from repentance, mercy, and knowledge of God. Since Jesus left the holy place of the heavenly sanctuary and entered within the second veil, He refuses to accept the worship of the nominal, fallen churches. In this condition those churches were left as the Jews were. Their profession, prayers, and exhortations are an abomination in His sight, and He will not smell in their assemblies. They are filling with every unclean and hateful bird while their members still profess to be Christians.
The rejection is because of great iniquity and vileness covered with a cloak of religion, including selfishness, fraud, and deceit practiced without any reproving of conscience. Pride and carnal minds dwell on self and lead to decorating the mortal body. That bodily adornment is done with self-satisfaction and pleasure. Jesus and the angels look upon them in anger. Their sins and pride have reached unto heaven and their portion is prepared, and though justice and judgment have slumbered long they will soon awake, for vengeance belongs to the Lord and He will repay.
The fearful threatenings of the third angel will then be realized, and all the wicked will drink of the wrath of God. Evil angels crowd the churches and religious bodies, exulting that the cloak of religion covers the greatest crimes and iniquity. The evil angels also spread over the land.
