Amos 6:7

Therefore now shall they go captive with the first that go captive, and the banquet of them that stretched themselves shall be removed.

The woe falls upon those at ease in Zion who put their confidence in the mountain of Samaria as chief of the nations to whom Israel came. It makes known the settled divine purpose to bring judgment upon impenitent Israel. Those so addressed will be foremost among those carried away, going into captivity with the first companies of exiles.

Their banquet will be taken from them, so that all their feasting and self-indulgent revelry comes to an end. For the Lord God of hosts has sworn by Himself that He abhors the pride of Jacob and hates his palaces, and therefore He will give up the city with all that is in it. He will raise up a nation to oppress the house of Israel from Hamath even to the river of the wilderness.
