Amos Rejoices Over the Restored Harvestby emmanuel_higgins

Amos 9:14

And I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them.

Coming days will see the captivity of Israel reversed by divine action, with the people brought back from exile to their own place. They will reconstruct cities left in ruins and then settle and dwell in them as inhabitants. They will establish vineyards and drink the wine produced from them, and they will lay out gardens and eat the fruit grown in them. This rebuilding belongs to a time of overflowing harvest, when plowing overtakes reaping and the seasons of labor and abundance press closely together. It concludes with God Himself planting His people in the land He has given them, settled so firmly that they will never again be pulled up from it.
