And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it.
Archippus's work is called a ministry, meaning a service, work and responsibility received in the Lord and entrusted to him rather than self-appointed. He is told to take heed to it, that is to pay careful attention to it and attend to it. He is told to fulfil it, that is to carry it out and do it.
That fulfilling means to bring the entrusted work through to completion fully and faithfully. To fulfil in this sense does not abolish the ministry or bring it to an end; the ministry remains meaningful and has a purpose. Carrying it out faithfully involves stirring up and exercising the gift given for that work, so the ministry can be carried out as entrusted.
