Daniel 11:13
For the king of the north shall return, and shall set forth a multitude greater than the former, and shall certainly come after certain years with a great army and with much riches. For the king of the north shall return, and shall set forth a multitude greater than the former, and shall certainly come after certain years with a great army and with much riches.
Daniel 11:13 is part of the prophecy of Daniel 11, which stands within the wonderful prophecies recorded in Daniel 7-12. Those prophecies were given to Daniel as God's ambassador to reveal the mysteries of ages to come. They were not fully understood even by Daniel himself, because the words were to remain shut up and the book sealed even to the time of the end.
The verse belongs to the closing period of this world's history, whose final and complete fulfillment is nearly reached. Its approaching completion signals that the final crisis and the foretold time and scenes of trouble are near and will soon take place, amid a growing spirit of war among the nations. Daniel will rest and stand in his lot and place at the end of the days.
