Daniel 11:30
For the ships of Chittim shall come against him: therefore he shall be grieved, and return, and have indignation against the holy covenant: so shall he do; he shall even return, and have intelligence with them that forsake the holy covenant.
The verse describes a power that is grieved by opposition and returns in anger against the holy covenant, then collaborates with those who forsake the holy covenant. It belongs to the wonderful prophecies of Daniel 7-12, given to Daniel as God's ambassador to reveal the mysteries of ages to come. Its full meaning was not understood even by Daniel himself, because the words were shut up and sealed until the time of the end. In the closing period of this world's history, at the end of the days, the seal is removed and Daniel will stand in his lot and place.
The prophecy of which the verse is part had nearly reached its complete fulfillment. Much of its fulfilled history will be repeated in similar scenes of coming trouble as the time of trouble approaches. Its predicted scenes of trouble will soon take place at a time when the world is stirred by the spirit of war.
