Daniel 11:34

Now when they shall fall, they shall be holpen with a little help: but many shall cleave to them with flatteries.

When they fall under persecution, God's people are holpen only with a little help, receiving limited relief rather than full deliverance. Their falling is a time of suffering under oppressive power, in which aid comes in small measure. Many cleave to them in that time insincerely, joining them with flatteries and drawn by smooth words rather than by true conversion.

The prophecy to which this belongs has nearly reached complete fulfillment, standing almost finished. Its history will be repeated, with similar scenes of trouble soon to take place as the time of trouble and the last crisis approaches. That final crisis draws near amid a spirit of war, belonging to the scenes of trouble just before the end.
