Daniel 11:36

And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.

The king described does as he pleases, lifting himself up over every god and uttering astonishing words in defiance of the God of gods. His success is permitted to continue only until the indignation runs its appointed course, for what has been determined is certain to be carried out. This belongs to the wonderful prophecies set down in Daniel 7 to 12, given as unveilings of the mysteries of the ages to come. Even Daniel himself did not fully grasp their meaning, for the words of his prophetic writings were shut up and sealed until the time of the end. At the end of the days, in the closing period of this world's history, Daniel will again be allowed to stand in his lot and place.

The prophecy of Daniel 11 is nearly fulfilled and has almost reached its complete fulfillment. Its history will be repeated, scenes like those it portrays will occur again, and the scenes of trouble foretold in prophecy will soon take place. In that renewed fulfillment Satan is gaining control of men and women who have no fear of God. As the prophecy draws toward its complete fulfillment, the world is stirred by the spirit of war.
