The verse belongs to the wonderful prophecies of Daniel 7-12 given by God to reveal the mysteries of ages to come. Even Daniel himself did not understand its full meaning, for its words were to remain shut up and sealed until the time of the end. In the closing period of this world's history Daniel will stand again in his lot and place at the end of the days.
The prophecy to which the verse belongs has nearly reached its complete fulfillment, having almost reached its completion. The scenes of trouble described and foretold in prophecy will soon take place. That soon fulfillment comes amid a world stirred by the spirit of war.
