Daniel 11:44

But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many.

This verse belongs to the prophecies of Daniel 7 to 12 that were shut up and sealed until the time of the end, and they were not fully understood even by Daniel himself. They were to be unsealed in the latter days, to be understood by the wise in the closing period of this world's history.

They have almost reached their final and complete fulfillment, and they concern the very time now being lived. Their setting is a time of grievous trouble among the nations, with wars and rumors of wars and a world stirred by war showing that the time of trouble increasing toward the end is near and the last crisis is close. The scenes of trouble they foretell will soon take place.

These prophecies, together with the teachings of Revelation, demand special attention, and special blessing is promised to those who study them. Daniel himself was assured that he would rest and stand in his allotted place at the end of the days.
