Deuteronomy 11:6
And what he did unto Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, the son of Reuben: how the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their households, and their tents, and all the substance that was in their possession, in the midst of all Israel:
The earth opened its mouth and swallowed Dathan and Abiram, sons of Eliab the son of Reuben, together with their households and their tents and all the substance in their possession, in the midst of all Israel. This was recalled as one of the great acts that Israel had seen with their own eyes, urged upon them as the reason to keep God's commandments and to be strong to go in and possess the land.
It stands in the eighth and eleventh chapters of Deuteronomy, whose lessons are of the greatest importance. It stands in the instruction of Deuteronomy 4-11 that shows God's dealings with His people, which all need in order to understand those dealings. The chapter sets before its hearers a blessing if they obey the commandments of the Lord their God, and a curse if they will not obey but turn aside out of the way to go after other gods.
Its lessons are given to present readers as truly as they were given to the Israelites, applying to God's people in the present as well as to Israel of old. God will vindicate His word when His people, including their leaders, depart from His commandments. The verse means much to every soul who carries responsibilities in connection with sanitarium work.
