Deuteronomy 11:8

Therefore shall ye keep all the commandments which I command you this day, that ye may be strong, and go in and possess the land, whither ye go to possess it;

The verse belongs to Moses's rehearsal of instruction to Israel before entering Canaan, as part of the teaching in Deuteronomy 4-11 about God's dealings with His people. Keeping all of God's commandments would make Israel strong and enable them to go in and possess the promised land, for their strength and possession depended on obedience. The commandments are rules for living, and obedience is tied to continued life and blessing in the land.

Israel had reason to obey because they had themselves seen the great and mighty acts God performed against Pharaoh and Egypt. Their disobedience was followed by the death of all but two of the adults who left Egypt before entering Canaan. The lesson is of the greatest importance to present readers and is given to them as verily as to Israel, calling them to keep all of God's commandments. It is important instruction to be kept in mind and heeded.

The verse speaks directly to those carrying responsibilities in sanitarium work, requiring careful observance of all the directions God has given, from the greatest to that which may seem the least. It warns God's people in the present that God will vindicate His word if their leaders depart from His commandments.
