Deuteronomy 11:9
And that ye may prolong your days in the land, which the LORD sware unto your fathers to give unto them and to their seed, a land that floweth with milk and honey. And that ye may prolong your days in the land, which the LORD sware unto your fathers to give unto them and to their seed, a land that floweth with milk and honey.
The instruction of Deuteronomy 4 through 11 reveals God's dealings with His people. Obedience and faithfulness to God's commandments would prolong Israel's days and enable them to live long in the land He swore to give to their ancestors and to their descendants, a land abundant in milk and honey. The chapter sets before God's people a blessing if they obey the Lord's commandments and a curse if they disobey by turning aside to worship other gods. That word about obedience and its consequences was fulfilled when, through disobedience, nearly all the adults who left Egypt died before entering Canaan. The lesson is of the greatest importance today and is given to God's people now, including their leaders, as truly as it was given to Israel. The verse speaks directly to everyone carrying responsibilities in sanitarium work, requiring careful observance of all of God's directions from the greatest to what may seem the least.
