Deuteronomy 16:6
But at the place which the LORD thy God shall choose to place his name in, there thou shalt sacrifice the passover at even, at the going down of the sun, at the season that thou camest forth out of Egypt. But at the place which the LORD thy God shall choose to place his name in, there thou shalt sacrifice the passover at even, at the going down of the sun, at the season that thou camest forth out of Egypt.
The Passover sacrifice was to be offered only at the place chosen for God's name, at evening at the going down of the sun, in the season of Israel's coming out of Egypt. That yearly observance commemorated deliverance from bondage. The appointed religious seasons were set apart from unnecessary work for remembering God's blessings and rejoicing together.
At those seasons worshipers were to bring gifts and thank-offerings in proportion to the blessings they had received. The measure of their offerings showed whether they truly valued God's gifts. It likewise revealed whether they loved their Benefactor.
