Deuteronomy 22:19
And they shall amerce him in an hundred shekels of silver, and give them unto the father of the damsel, because he hath brought up an evil name upon a virgin of Israel: and she shall be his wife; he may not put her away all his days.
The word amerce is now obsolete and means to punish by imposing a fine, by taking money or other property from the offender. A man who brings a false, damaging accusation against a virgin of Israel is subject to the penalty fixed here. He must pay one hundred shekels of silver to the father of the damsel. He must also take her as his wife and he may not put her away all his days.
