Deuteronomy 3:11
For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of giants; behold, his bedstead was a bedstead of iron; is it not in Rabbath of the children of Ammon? nine cubits was the length thereof, and four cubits the breadth of it, after the cubit of a man.
The verse belongs to the account of Israel's advance into Bashan and its victories over powerful enemies before crossing the Jordan. Bashan was a land of fortified cities whose inhabitants were descended from a race of giants. Og, king of Bashan, was himself a giant of exceptional size and strength even among that people. His great size shows why Israel faced a daunting enemy in him. Israel had already defeated Og, and the memory of that victory together with the miraculous crossing of the Jordan filled the surrounding nations with fear.
