Deuteronomy 3:6
And we utterly destroyed them, as we did unto Sihon king of Heshbon, utterly destroying the men, women, and children, of every city. And we utterly destroyed them, as we did unto Sihon king of Heshbon, utterly destroying the men, women, and children, of every city.
Deuteronomy 3:6 belongs to the account of Israel's conquest of Bashan, a powerful kingdom containing many fortified stone cities and unwalled towns. It records that Israel utterly destroyed the men, women, and children of every city there. That destruction was done in the same way as had been done to Sihon, king of the Amorites at Heshbon. The defeat of Sihon, together with the victories over Midian and Og and the crossing of the Jordan, helped fill the surrounding nations with fear.
