Deuteronomy 4:48

From Aroer, which is by the bank of the river Arnon, even unto mount Sion, which is Hermon,

The boundary runs from Aroer beside the Arnon River to Mount Sion, which is Hermon, marking the extent of the territory Israel had taken. The verse stands within the instruction of Deuteronomy 4-11, especially the fourth through eighth chapters, which show what God required of His ancient people that they might be a holy people unto Himself and reveal His dealings with His people. Those who would be counted among God's covenant-keeping people are urged to study the chapter carefully. Its instruction calls people back to the true platform of faithfulness to God through obedience to the law proclaimed at Sinai, including keeping God's true Sabbath holy.

That instruction means much to every soul carrying responsibilities in connection with sanitarium work. Its directions, from the greatest to that which may seem the least, are to be carefully observed. They call leaders and workers to purity, consecrated service, and obedience. These chapters are to be studied now with profit because the day of God's great final review is near, when the people of this world must stand before the Judge of all the earth to answer for their deeds. The present is the time of investigation, when before that review every character will have been investigated and every case decided for eternity.
