Ecclesiastes 3:19
For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity. For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity.
To die like a beast is to die believing that death ends existence and expecting no life beyond the grave. Holding that expectation leaves the dying without comfort and without hope at death. By contrast, Christian hope looks beyond the grave to life again, with brightness beyond death. Even with that hopeless expectation, the one who dies must still meet God, who is just.
