Ecclesiastes 9:1
For all this I considered in my heart even to declare all this, that the righteous, and the wise, and their works, are in the hand of God: no man knoweth either love or hatred by all that is before them. For all this I considered in my heart even to declare all this, that the righteous, and the wise, and their works, are in the hand of God: no man knoweth either love or hatred by all that is before them.
Death comes to the righteous as well as to the evil, as shown in Ecclesiastes 9:1-6, so being forgiven and living rightly does not exempt anyone from dying. The righteous and the wise, with all their works, remain in the hand of God even under that common lot. What lies before them gives no man power to know whether love or hatred will meet him.
