Esther 10:3

For Mordecai the Jew was next unto king Ahasuerus, and great among the Jews, and accepted of the multitude of his brethren, seeking the wealth of his people, and speaking peace to all his seed.

Mordecai was raised to be next unto King Ahasuerus, second in rank and honor. That position of honor was the one formerly held by Haman. He was great among the Jews and accepted, respected, and highly regarded by the multitude of his brethren. He used his position to seek the wealth and welfare of his people and of Israel. He spoke and worked for peace for all his seed and among his people.

His standing and service show the deliverance and favor God brought to the Jews. His influence and favor brought Israel back into favor at the Medo-Persian court, and God used it to make possible the purpose of restoring His people to their own land. That restoration followed several years later, when a considerable and substantial number returned to Jerusalem under Ezra in the seventh year of Artaxerxes I, under Ezra's leadership and spiritual care.
