Esther 2:18
Then the king made a great feast unto all his princes and his servants, even Esther’s feast; and he made a release to the provinces, and gave gifts, according to the state of the king. The narrative running from the deposition of Vashti through the choice of Esther and culminating in the king's great feast at her coronation is real history preserved as a practical guide for daily conduct. It is not mere court chronicle but instruction, with the feast marking the divinely permitted outcome of those prior events. In that chain of causes and consequences wives are given a standing example by which to order their own place and behavior in marriage.
From the contrasting lives of queens Vashti and Esther wives are to learn the harmful results that follow disregarding Paul's plain teaching on the wife's place. That warning is especially urgent where female supremacy is urged both in public speaking and in the home circle.
