Haman's Decree Carried to the Provincesby SarahW

Esther 3:14

The copy of the writing for a commandment to be given in every province was published unto all people, that they should be ready against that day.

The copy of the writing for a commandment was published in every province so that all the people would be ready against the appointed day. It was King Ahasuerus's decree against the Jews to destroy them, prompted by Haman and driven by his malice, secured through false claims, and threatening suffering and oppression for God's people. The enemy's purpose in that plot was thwarted, for God's protecting power defeated Haman's plot against His people.

That decree foreshadows a similar future decree against God's faithful people, likewise secured through false claims and aimed at those who remain faithful to God. The future test will center on Sabbath observance, with the decree intended to condemn and kill those who refuse to worship the false sabbath. As Haman's plot was defeated in Esther's time, so Satan's future designs will be defeated by God's power when God's people trust in Him and remain true to Him whatever the cost.
