Esther 4:5
Then called Esther for Hatach, one of the king’s chamberlains, whom he had appointed to attend upon her, and gave him a commandment to Mordecai, to know what it was, and why it was. Then called Esther for Hatach, one of the king’s chamberlains, whom he had appointed to attend upon her, and gave him a commandment to Mordecai, to know what it was, and why it was.
Esther called for Hatach, one of the king's chamberlains whom he had appointed to attend upon her, and gave him a command to go to Mordecai to learn what had happened and why he was in distress, and Hatach then carried back to her Mordecai's explanation and appeal. The incident stands within the Medo-Persian threat against God's people in the reign of Ahasuerus, when Haman sought to destroy them but God frustrated that purpose. At that time Medo-Persia had succeeded Babylon as the second head of the Satan-controlled beast system of government, which Satan perverted to his own ends. Through Haman in the reign of Ahasuerus Satan thought by that power to destroy all of God's people as the woman through whom the Man-child should come, but God frustrated his purpose.
