Esther 4:7

And Mordecai told him of all that had happened unto him, and of the sum of the money that Haman had promised to pay to the king’s treasuries for the Jews, to destroy them.

Mordecai told Hathach of all that had happened to him and of the sum of money that Haman had promised to pay into the king's treasuries for the Jews, to destroy them. The episode took place under Medo-Persian rule, which was the second head of the beast system of government, and the events occurred in the reign of Ahasuerus. Through Haman and his promised payment to the king's treasuries, Satan attempted to destroy all of God's people, the Jews. In this attempt Satan thought to destroy the woman through whom the Man-child should come.

God frustrated Satan's purpose and by providence saved and delivered His people from Haman's plot to destroy the Jews. Mordecai's appeal led to prayer, and to Haman's death and Israel's deliverance.
