Esther 6:13

And Haman told Zeresh his wife and all his friends every thing that had befallen him. Then said his wise men and Zeresh his wife unto him, If Mordecai be of the seed of the Jews, before whom thou hast begun to fall, thou shalt not prevail against him, but shalt surely fall before him.

The verse belongs to the history of Haman's attempt under Medo-Persian rule to destroy all of God's people. That attempt was Satan's effort carried out through Haman. God thwarted and frustrated it.

In the verse Haman's wife Zeresh and his wise men recognize the meaning of what has befallen him. Because Mordecai is of the seed of the Jews, they see that Haman has begun to fall before him. They declare that he will not prevail against him but will surely fall before him. Their words mark Haman's rising defeat and the deliverance of the Jews from his plot.
