Exodus 18:10
And Jethro said, Blessed be the LORD, who hath delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of Pharaoh, who hath delivered the people from under the hand of the Egyptians. And Jethro said, Blessed be the LORD, who hath delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of Pharaoh, who hath delivered the people from under the hand of the Egyptians.
Jethro had heard of the wonderful deliverance and came to Moses in the wilderness, bringing Moses's wife and children whom Moses had sent back before leaving Egypt. Moses told him all the Lord had done to Pharaoh and to the Egyptians for Israel's sake, all the hardship that had come upon them by the way, and how the Lord had delivered them. On hearing this account, Jethro rejoiced for all the goodness the Lord had done to Israel in delivering them.
His blessing praises the Lord as the one who delivered Moses and the people of Israel from under the hand of the Egyptians and from under the hand of Pharaoh, showing the deliverance to be God's own work. His words recognize that the Lord is greater than all gods and that those who acted proudly against Israel were overcome.
In response he joined Moses and the elders in offering sacrifice and holding a feast to remember God's mercy. As a witness from the Gentile world, his praise reveals heavenly truth and shows that God appoints witnesses to make His principles known.
