Exodus 18:9
And Jethro rejoiced for all the goodness which the LORD had done to Israel, whom he had delivered out of the hand of the Egyptians. And Jethro rejoiced for all the goodness which the LORD had done to Israel, whom he had delivered out of the hand of the Egyptians.
Before Moses left Egypt he had sent his wife and children back to his father-in-law, and after hearing of the wonderful deliverance from Egypt Jethro visited Moses in the wilderness and brought his wife and children to him. Moses went out to meet his father-in-law, did obeisance and kissed him, showing him honor and affection. He told him all that the Lord had done to Pharaoh and to the Egyptians for Israel's sake, and all the travail that had come upon them by the way, and how the Lord had delivered them.
In response to that account of how the Lord had delivered Israel from Egypt, Jethro rejoiced for all the goodness the Lord had done to Israel in delivering them out of the hand of the Egyptians. He blessed the Lord who had delivered them out of the hand of the Egyptians and Pharaoh and from under the hand of the Egyptians. He confessed that now he knew the Lord is greater than all gods, for in the thing wherein they dealt proudly He was above them.
He took a burnt offering and sacrifices for God, and Aaron and all the elders of Israel came to eat bread with him before God. They joined him in offering sacrifice and sharing a feast to remember God's mercy. Jethro was a Gentile whom God appointed to reveal heaven's principles, showing that God has always provided witnesses and agents to make His truth known.
