Whosoever lieth with a beast shall surely be put to death.
The command belongs to the instruction God gave to Moses on the mount in Exodus 19-24 as special directions to Israel that men should obey, and it was written in a book. It was given by Jesus Christ Himself, the same Teacher who gave the directions on Mount Sinai and who afterward spoke in human flesh. It does not testify of a Christless dispensation and is not of a lower order than the statutes given in this age. It shows the Lord guarding the interests of His people with impartial ways and exalted requirements.
It was written to guard against doing injustice and to guide dealings with one another, including special directions concerning the poor. It was to be strictly obeyed. It is to be studied and presented before the people, and is needed now just as verily as it was needed by the children of Israel in the days of Moses.
