And in the candlestick shall be four bowls made like unto almonds, with their knops and their flowers.
The shaft bore four cups formed like almonds, or like almond blossoms, each finished with its own knob and flower. The whole lampstand was of pure gold, beaten and wrought from one solid piece. It carried seven lamps.
In the earthly tabernacle it stood in the holy place, on the south side. Its counterpart is seen in the holy place, the first apartment, of the heavenly sanctuary and temple. There it appears rich and glorious.
Its lamps burned continually, by day and by night, giving light to the sanctuary. The tabernacle had no windows, so it depended on that continual lamplight. That light reached both sacred apartments. It reflected from the gold and from the gold-plated walls and boards, and illuminated the sacred furnishings and the colored embroidered curtains.
