Exodus 26:14

And thou shalt make a covering for the tent of rams’ skins dyed red, and a covering above of badgers’ skins.

The covering of rams' skins dyed red with an outer covering of badgers' skins was part of the building specifications given by Christ to Moses for the tabernacle. That tabernacle was designed to be taken apart and carried with Israel in all their journeyings, yet it was a structure of extraordinary magnificence. Its walls were upright boards heavily plated with purest gold, and it was composed of two apartments separated by a rich and beautiful veil, with a similar veil closing the entrance of the first apartment. Its veils and ceiling curtain were of varied colors most beautifully arranged and inwrought with threads of gold and silver in cherubim, representing the angelic host connected with the work of the heavenly sanctuary as ministering angels to the saints on earth.

These instructions, including this covering, were later repeated by Paul to fellow tentmakers for their benefit. He used them to teach that the skill, genius, and wisdom employed in the work came from God. That God-given ability was to be used for His glory.
