Exodus 26:16

Ten cubits shall be the length of a board, and a cubit and a half shall be the breadth of one board.

The verse belongs to the specifications God gave Moses for building the tabernacle. Each board was ten cubits long and a cubit and a half wide. The boards stood upright and formed the walls of the tabernacle. They were heavily plated with purest gold. They were set in silver sockets.

The reflected light and colors of the gold made the sanctuary's interior glorious, giving the structure extraordinary magnificence. The structure was designed to be taken apart and carried with the Israelites in all their journeyings through the wilderness. The tabernacle was built as God's dwelling among Israel. The skill, genius, and wisdom used in this work came from God and were to be used for His glory.
