Exodus 26:18

And thou shalt make the boards for the tabernacle, twenty boards on the south side southward.

Exodus 26:18 belongs to the detailed instructions God gave Moses for building the tabernacle, laying down the specifications for its construction including its boards. It directs that twenty upright boards were to form the south side of the tabernacle, the south wall southward. Those boards were plated with gold, heavily plated with the purest gold, forming gold-plated walls. They were set in silver sockets.

Light from the candlestick was reflected from the gold boards, helping to make the interior of the sanctuary beautiful and glorious with extraordinary magnificence. The structure was so constructed that it could be taken apart and borne with the Israelites and carried with them in all their journeyings through the wilderness. The skill and wisdom used to carry out these God-given specifications were gifts to be used for His glory.
