Exodus 26:2
The length of one curtain shall be eight and twenty cubits, and the breadth of one curtain four cubits: and every one of the curtains shall have one measure. The length of one curtain shall be eight and twenty cubits, and the breadth of one curtain four cubits: and every one of the curtains shall have one measure.
Exodus 26:2 belongs to the specifications God gave Moses for building the tabernacle. It describes the curtains that formed the ceiling of the tabernacle. The tabernacle could be taken apart and carried with the Israelites in all their journeyings, yet it was a structure of extraordinary magnificence with walls of upright boards heavily plated with purest gold.
The building had two apartments separated by a rich and beautiful curtain or veil, with a similar veil closing the entrance of the first apartment. The ceiling curtain together with these veils was of a variety of colors most beautifully arranged, and inwrought with threads of gold and silver were cherubim to represent the angelic host who are connected with the work of the heavenly sanctuary and who are ministering angels to the saints upon the earth. The construction of the tabernacle called for skill, genius, and wisdom given by God and used for His glory, and its instructions also served as teaching about honoring God.
