Exodus 26:27
And five bars for the boards of the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the boards of the side of the tabernacle, for the two sides westward. And five bars for the boards of the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the boards of the side of the tabernacle, for the two sides westward.
Exodus 26:27 belongs to the instructions Moses received for building the tabernacle and to the description of its construction and structure. The five bars on each side joined and held together the boards of the tabernacle. Its walls consisted of upright boards heavily plated with purest gold. The upright boards were set in silver sockets. The boards and their fittings formed the sides of the sacred apartments, whose surfaces reflected the lamp light and the colors of the curtains.
The tabernacle was built to be taken apart and carried with the Israelites in all their journeyings through the wilderness. Though portable, it was a structure of extraordinary magnificence. The skill and wisdom needed to carry out these specifications were gifts from God, to be used for His glory.
