Exodus 26:37
And thou shalt make for the hanging five pillars of shittim wood, and overlay them with gold, and their hooks shall be of gold: and thou shalt cast five sockets of brass for them. And thou shalt make for the hanging five pillars of shittim wood, and overlay them with gold, and their hooks shall be of gold: and thou shalt cast five sockets of brass for them.
The supports for the entrance hanging were five pillars of acacia wood overlaid with gold, fitted with hooks of gold, and set in five cast sockets of brass. That hanging closed the entrance of the first apartment, while a similar rich and beautiful veil separated the building's two apartments. The tabernacle so described was made to be taken apart and carried with the Israelites in all their journeyings, yet it was a structure of extraordinary magnificence.
Its walls were upright boards heavily plated with the purest gold. The veils and the curtain forming the ceiling of the tabernacle were made in a variety of colors most beautifully arranged. Cherubim were worked into those fabrics with threads of gold and silver to represent the angelic host connected with the work of the heavenly sanctuary as ministering angels to the saints on earth. The detailed directions show that the skill and wisdom used in making the tabernacle were given by God and were to be used for His glory.
