Exodus 26:4
And thou shalt make loops of blue upon the edge of the one curtain from the selvedge in the coupling; and likewise shalt thou make in the uttermost edge of another curtain, in the coupling of the second. And thou shalt make loops of blue upon the edge of the one curtain from the selvedge in the coupling; and likewise shalt thou make in the uttermost edge of another curtain, in the coupling of the second.
Exodus 26:4 belongs to the specific instructions given to Moses for building the tabernacle. That tabernacle was so constructed that it could be taken apart and borne along with Israel in all their journeyings. Though portable, it was a structure of extraordinary magnificence, with walls of upright boards heavily plated with the purest gold.
The sacred building contained two apartments separated by a rich and beautiful curtain or veil, with a similar veil closing the entrance of the first apartment. These veils, together with the curtain that formed the ceiling of the tabernacle, were of a variety of colors most beautifully arranged, and were inwrought with threads of gold and silver in the form of cherubim. The cherubim represented the angelic host connected with the work of the heavenly sanctuary, who are ministering angels to the saints upon the earth.
The skill and wisdom exercised in carrying out this construction were gifts from God, to be used for His glory. The instructions surrounding this detail can teach and benefit those who work at a trade.
