Exodus 28:40

And for Aaron’s sons thou shalt make coats, and thou shalt make for them girdles, and bonnets shalt thou make for them, for glory and for beauty.

The verse belongs to God's special, detailed and specific instructions to Moses about the clothing of those who ministered in tabernacle service in sacred office. It prescribes the clothing of Aaron's sons in a particular style suited to their priestly work, namely coats and girdles and bonnets, made for glory and for beauty. The specification shows that their apparel was to be specified and that order and cleanliness were to be maintained in everything connected with worship. Orderly, clean and reverent dress honors God while disorder dishonors Him, and helps lead the people to regard God and His service as holy.

The garments of Aaron and his sons were symbolic, showing that the Lord has a preference concerning the dress of those who serve Him. Christ's followers are likewise to dress in a way that represents Him, neatly and modestly and with good taste, without changing their apparel merely to follow fashion or seeking display.
