Exodus 40:16

Thus did Moses: according to all that the LORD commanded him, so did he.

Thus did Moses: according to all that the Lord commanded him, so did he. That doing belonged to the ordered arrangements for the camp and tabernacle, which displayed God's majesty and holiness, the purity required of those who serve Him, and the character He wanted His people to show to surrounding nations. His obedience sprang from implicit faith and trust in God, not from confidence in his own or human wisdom, strength, ability, and reasoning. That faith was enduring. That faith was unswerving, ever-abiding and unflinching, not failing under the most trying circumstances.

He trusted God's wisdom and purpose rather than his own judgment, abilities, and reasoning. The wisdom and purpose he trusted was loving in intent. He was willing to obey even when God's commands seemed unreasonable, improper, or not right to human judgment and reason. Such willingness means not arguing about unreasonableness or impossibility and not stopping to ask what the consequences might be.

Having learned his helplessness, he put aside self-confidence and placed a very low estimate on his own ability. He put his entire trust in God and, by submitting to God's discipline and relying on Him, he changed his own way for the Lord's way. He did not hesitate to follow even when that way led along strange, untried, and unfamiliar paths. By faith he pressed through difficulties and overcame obstacles that seemed almost unsurmountable, moving forward at God's command though there often seemed to be nothing ahead for his feet, going forward without faltering in the seemingly hopeless undertaking of leading more than a million people through the wilderness.

In this way he became a sanctified channel through whom God could work mightily. It was not the learning of the wise men or the education received in Egypt that made him such a channel and enabled him to triumph over his enemies, but faith trusting in Him with whom all things are possible. That faith puts unbelief to shame: those who obey without questioning will be successful workers, while those who refuse to move forward until they see every step plainly marked out will never accomplish much.
