Ezekiel 1:2

In the fifth day of the month, which was the fifth year of king Jehoiachin's captivity, belongs to the opening of Ezekiel's vision, with the first two chapters presenting a divine symbol. In that vision the wheels and the accompanying living forms appear intricate and confusing and hard to explain. What looks like confusion is governed by infinite wisdom, which brings perfect order and harmony, with every part working in its proper place and in harmony with the rest.

The vision teaches that God himself, and not human agents, guides and accomplishes His work. It shows that heaven is closely connected with events on earth. It shows that God cares for those who are loyal to Him and holds coming events, the destiny of nations, and the concerns of His church in His charge, proving the world is not without a ruler.
