Ezekiel 1:7
And their feet were straight feet; and the sole of their feet was like the sole of a calf’s foot: and they sparkled like the colour of burnished brass. And their feet were straight feet; and the sole of their feet was like the sole of a calf’s foot: and they sparkled like the colour of burnished brass.
Ezekiel 1:7 belongs to the vision given to the exiled prophet beside the Chebar River. The vision spanning Ezekiel 1-2 shows living creatures, wheels within wheels, and a throne above them. At first the wheels and the living beings connected with them appear intricate, unexplainable, and confusing to the finite eye.
Amid that apparent confusion is revealed a hand of infinite wisdom that brings perfect order and harmony out of it, with every wheel working in its proper place in harmony with the whole and with every other part of the machinery. It is God himself who directs the work, rather than human beings controlling it. It shows heaven closely connected with events on earth, that God's power rules above earthly rulers, and that He cares for those who remain loyal to Him. The world has a ruler who holds coming events, the destiny of nations, and the concerns of His church in His charge. The vision holds a deep and important lesson for every one of God's workmen and should be studied with humility and earnest prayer.
