Ezekiel 11:14

Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

Ezekiel was of the priestly family and served as God's mouthpiece to Israel in captivity in Babylonia, carrying on his work from 595 to 574 and thus beginning and closing a little later than Jeremiah. Before his prophetic work opened, God gave him wonderful visions of His own glory and great majesty, so that having once seen God he would not fear the face of man when he met sinners. The verse stands within the first twenty chapters of his book, whose visions reveal God's overruling providence over the nations. In it the word of the LORD came again to Ezekiel as one of his awful messages of warning and reproof to the sinners among his own people.
