Ezekiel 11:18
And they shall come thither, and they shall take away all the detestable things thereof and all the abominations thereof from thence. And they shall come thither, and they shall take away all the detestable things thereof and all the abominations thereof from thence.
When they come there to the place promised for them to dwell, they will take away from it all its detestable things and all its abominations. That removal is outward cleansing that goes with the promised inward renewal to a new heart and new spirit. The inner change enables turning from sin and living as God's people.
The chapter is a prophecy to be studied critically and thoughtfully. It stands with chapter 9, which is to be fulfilled to the letter, and with chapter 10, which shows God bringing perfect method and harmonious working to His appointed instruments. Its warning falls on those who refuse correction and leave stumbling blocks in the way of others. Unless they remove those stumbling blocks, God will turn His face from them.
