Ezekiel Digs Through the Wall With His Bundleby emmanuel_higgins

Ezekiel 12:5

Dig thou through the wall in their sight, and carry out thereby.

God directed Ezekiel to dig through a wall in the sight of the people and to carry his possessions out through the opening, himself going out by that same way. It was an acted-out prophetic sign of removal and captivity, setting those coming events before them as a realistic miniature rather than only a vision or a verbal description.

The digging through the wall and carrying out portrayed hasty flight and escape under cover of darkness. By making the coming departure visible to the people, his conduct was meant to lead them to ask what he was doing, so that he could tell them that he was their sign.
