Ezekiel 16:62

And I will establish my covenant with thee; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD:

God establishes His covenant with those He has forgiven and acknowledges as His own people, so that they know that He is the Lord. That covenant and His reconciliation do not produce pride but advancing Christian experience and deeper repentance. The forgiven remember their own evil ways and are ashamed for all that they did, even though they have been pacified and forgiven.

They are left confounded, with their mouth closed. That closed mouth means no self-glorification and no boasting in self. It means the knowledge that all sufficiency is in Christ alone. No good thing dwells in the flesh, and all glory is only in the cross of Christ.
