Ezekiel 18:14
Now, lo, if he beget a son, that seeth all his father’s sins which he hath done, and considereth, and doeth not such like, Now, lo, if he beget a son, that seeth all his father’s sins which he hath done, and considereth, and doeth not such like,
Ezekiel 18 belongs as a message of reproof and warning from the Lord to His people, given so that they will not move blindly. That warning is directed to mothers, to fathers, and to the children of Israel. The son who sees all his father's sins, considers them, and refuses to do the like stands under the truth that God sees wrongdoing and judges it. Those who act against the light they have received must therefore be warned, and must not be given the promise that their wrongdoing will be overlooked. The Lord's message is spoken the same whether men will hear or whether they will forbear, and it must be delivered with faithful work at all times and in all places. Those who hear it with patience and a generous, teachable spirit will receive the blessing of the Lord.
