Ezekiel 2:10
And he spread it before me; and it was written within and without: and there was written therein lamentations, and mourning, and woe. And he spread it before me; and it was written within and without: and there was written therein lamentations, and mourning, and woe.
The roll spread before the prophet was inscribed on both its inner and its outer face, and its writing was lamentations and mourning and woe. Its contents formed a sorrow-laden message of judgment to be carried to a rebellious Israel.
Ezekiel 2:1-10 is to be studied in connection with Ezekiel 9 and Revelation 5. Its instruction reaches those who take a firm stand in opposition to the messages of the Lord. It warns that God will deal with His people at the present time as He dealt with them in the past.
