Ezekiel 20:32
And that which cometh into your mind shall not be at all, that ye say, We will be as the heathen, as the families of the countries, to serve wood and stone. And that which cometh into your mind shall not be at all, that ye say, We will be as the heathen, as the families of the countries, to serve wood and stone.
That which was coming into the mind would not happen at all. The people were saying they would be as the heathen, as the families of the countries around them. Their purpose was to serve idols of wood and stone in the manner of those nations. The declaration stands as a warning that this plan to become like the surrounding peoples in idol worship would not come to pass.
