Ezekiel 20:33

As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out, will I rule over you:

The verse declares that God himself will rule over his people with great power and judgment. The passage in Ezekiel 20:33-38 is linked to the plagues of Egypt and Israel's deliverance from bondage. Those events foreshadow its fulfillment, when the seven last plagues will fall on the wicked just before and during the deliverance of the saints.

The verse warns that those who defy and reject God's plain and clear commands will be ruled over by him with mighty power and poured-out fury. Disregarding what God has forbidden brings transgression and sin and places the disobedient under condemnation. The warning applies especially to educators who disregard God's truth and teach disobedience. By their teaching and example they become a stumbling block that misleads others, leads them into darkness, and blinds them to the light, even the light of Jesus.
